I was so excited to bring this ewe back to the 2010 Minnesota FFA State Fair! As a ewe lamb, she was named the 2009 Grand Champion Polypay Ewe and I knew that as a yearling she definitely grew into an eye appealing, functional and productive ewe.
Before re-entering the show ring, this ewe had twins and weaned 93 pounds of lamb (60 day adjusted). Later that summer she reclaimed her title as the 2010 Grand Champion Polypay Ewe! She was even called back for the overall Supreme Champion Breeding Ewe show. Although she was not chosen I know that this ewe, like many of the other ewes on our farm, was able to perform just as well in the barn nursing her lambs as she did in the judge's eye.. When she returned home from the State Fair she was exposed and lambed, at 1 year 11 months of age, on January 31st of 2011. She had triplets and weaned twins at 121 pounds of lamb (60 day adjusted). It was our choice to foster the third lamb which weighed 67 pounds (60 day adjusted). She's a great performing ewe both genetically and structurally. I'm looking forward to bringing her progeny to the upcoming 2011 State FFA Show.
